Board of Directors (2025-2026)
Dick has been a property owner since XXXX and as the board president plays a key leadership role by setting the time and place for board and annual meetings, creating agendas, and helping establish yearly goals for both committees and the association. They stay informed on issues affecting the community, make themselves available to members for questions or concerns, and contribute articles to the association's newsletter to keep everyone engaged and informed.
Paul's family has owned property on Windigo Lake since 2000. The Vice President supports the board by presiding over meetings in the President's absence, attending all board and committee meetings, and stepping in wherever needed. They also serve as a key liaison to other lake associations, government bodies, and the broader community, acting as a vital source of information and education for all members.
Karen brings XX years of financial management experience to the board. The Treasurer oversees association finances, including membership dues and grant applications for lake improvement projects. They maintain detailed records of all income and expenses, manage checking and savings accounts at People's Bank of Wisconsin in Hayward, and handle deposits, payments, and online banking as needed. The Treasurer also prepares financial reports and presents them at meetings when requested by WLPOA leadership.
As the Secretary, Barb plays a vital role in documenting and communicating WLPOA activities by taking and distributing minutes for all board and annual meetings and arranging coverage if absent. They actively participate in meetings and are responsible for compiling and distributing newsletters and the annual meeting notice throughout the year. The Secretary also manages website updates, including posting newsletters, news, classifieds, and photos, while monitoring the association's email inbox, responding to inquiries, and summarizing volunteer AIS screening efforts for grant reporting purposes. She has been a year-round resident since XXXX.
The Membership Chair manages WLPOA membership by sending annual renewal letters, collecting dues, and maintaining an up-to-date database of all landowners on Windigo, Hub, and Lake 27. They handle office supply purchases, generate mailing labels for newsletters, and update contact information and resolve undeliverable mail using public records when necessary.
Peter oversees shoreline preservation initiatives and works to protect the unique natural character of Lake Windigo. Their focus includes conservation efforts related to water quality and maintaining a healthy aquatic environment for fish and wildlife. They collaborate with state, county, and township officials to support these goals, monitor lake safety, and keep members informed through updates on the website and in the newsletter.
In addition to being Vice President, Paul also leads the fishing committee, coordinating with the DNR on fish stocking, habitat improvement, and long-term goals for the lake. He organizes at least one committee meeting per year-beer included to boost attendance-and recruits members for special projects. Paul also oversees a loon nest watch group, gathers DNR reports if the lake is shocked, and contributes articles on fishing and wildlife to the newsletter to keep the community informed and engaged.
The Social Chair organizes the WLPOA annual meeting and picnic held late summer, managing everything from setup and cleanup to the location, menu, and communications. They also plan the spring dinner by recommending a date and format, securing a venue and entertainment, and coordinating invitations and reminders in collaboration with the board, Treasurer, and Communications Editor.

Get Involved
We welcome and encourage member participation in the WLPOA! Board meetings are held every few months at rotating locations, and all members are invited to attend our annual meeting each summer.
Whether you're interested in joining the board or simply lending a hand on a specific project or committee, there's a place for everyone. All roles are voluntary and designed to require only a minimal time commitment. The more residents and friends of the Windigo Lakes Area who get involved, the stronger our collective voice becomes in representing property owners with our Township and Sawyer County. Your ideas and input matter-please consider joining us!
